At Lifetime Xteriors, we install all types of siding to meet your goals and needs. We can help whether you are looking for LP siding, fiber cement siding, masonry, stonework, or vinyl siding.
LP Siding
LP siding is a manufactured wood product with low maintenance. It is one of the most common types of siding getting installed today due to it’s beautiful look, low maintenance, and impact resistance. It is also a great choice for environmentally conscious consumers.
Fiber Cement Siding
Fiber cement siding is one of the strongest types of siding in the marketplace because it has cement composite in it just like the name suggests and is reinforced with cellulose fibers. It is very durable and is likely the only siding you will need to do in your lifetime.
Many people call fiber cement siding hardie-board but that is actually just a brand of fiber cement siding similar to how many people call tissue paper Kleenex even though Kleenex is just a brand. Their are many manufacturers of fiber cement siding (GAF Weatherside, James Hardie, Nichiha, Allura Plycem, and more).
The photo below shows a home Lifetime Xteriors did in fiber cement. This home was on an alley and the garage across the alley caught on fire. You will see how the fence burned up and how the siding did not appear to be damaged. We ended up installing new siding to be safe of course but the amazing thing was that it did not appear that the siding was damaged whatsoever! You will notice how the neighbors homes who were further away from the alley had vinyl siding and how their siding melted.
Masonry
Masonry brick is the most timeless form of a finish for the outside of the home but of course it is the most expensive. When maintained properly though, brick will last many lifetimes and is why we recommend to install it if your budget allows.
Stonework
Stonework is perfect for accenting the rest of the siding on your home. It looks great with all types of siding and can really make your home pop.
Vinyl Siding
Vinyl siding is the most economical type of siding that we recommend. It comes in many colors, shapes, and styles.
Cedar Siding
Cedar siding used to be a very popular siding type for many homes but is no longer very popular due to its high maintenance. Cedar siding is still very popular among wood-boring insects and woodpeckers though. That is why it is very common to see lots of holes in the cedar siding which is caused by woodpeckers looking for their next meal. If you do have cedar siding we highly recommend applying a clear-coat stain every two years and treating it every 5 to 7 years.
Fiber cement siding and LP Siding have a cedar look but do not require the vigorous maintenance schedule that cedar does.
