Lombard Illinois is a western suburb of Chicago. Lombard is a shopper’s dream with tons of options at the Yorktown mall and outside the mall too. Lombard is also home to some amazing high-end restaurants and fast-food options as well. The Dairy Queen on Main Street is the go-to spot on a hot summer day as long as you don’t mind waiting for a bit because it is always packed. We promise you though, it is worth the wait!
Lombard also features tons of entertainment options. Lombard is home to a WhirlyBall which is loads of fun and sort of like Lacross but with bumper cars. Wicked Ball is tons of fun with nerf toys, large bubble balls, and all of your favorite table games like foosball and air hockey. The village holds a special place in the hearts of Lifetime Xteriors, a Lombard roofing contractor, because founders Juan Inglis and Joshua Inglis both went to school here. Joshua Inglis from Lifetime Xteriors remembers bringing a copy of his report card to Enchanted Castle because they would reward him for good grades by giving him free tokens.
Lombard also has lots of ways to appreciate nature and the great outdoors with the Illinois Prairie Path. The path is perfect for those that like to go on daily walks, joggers, and bikers. Lilacia Park is also a way to appreciate nature with beautiful flowers and lilacs and is beautiful to see anytime of the year.
For all of the reasons above and more we love being Lombard roofing contractors. At the top of the page you will see a wood shake roof we installed on a gazebo here in Lombard. You will notice there is snow in the photo and that is because wood shake shingles can be installed even in cold temperatures. That is why the largest manufacturer of wood shake shingles is Canada because wood shake shingles do not have to seal like asphalt shingles do. The original roof was improperly installed because they used starter shingles for the entire roof but did not use a starter shingle at the eave. We had to replace all the wood decking along the eaves for this very reason. They also did not install the cone at the very top of the roof which is commonly referred to as a spire or finial. This allowed water to get under the original shingles. Lastly, they did not use hip and ridge shingles which again allowed water to get underneath the shingles. You can see what this roof originally looked like in the photo below.
In the two photos below this paragraph, you will see another Lombard roof replacement project we completed. Our client wanted to really make their roof pop with color so they opted for TruDefinition® Duration® Shingles in the Sand Dune color. Sand Dune was the Owens Corning 2018 color of the year and is absolutely stunning when installed. The first photo below is what the roof looked like before installing the shingles and the second photo shows what the roof looked like with the new shingles.
It is somewhat hard to see what the shingles look like from afar so below is a closer photo of the Sand Dune colored shingles while we were installing the roof. You will probably notice that there is an opening at the very top of the roof and that is because we were able to add ridge vent to the home and eliminate the metal vents. Ask us about adding ridge vent for your home.
The last photo below shows you a more traditional roof that we completed in TruDefinition® Duration® Shingles in the Onyx Black color. Our clients wanted the shingles to really stand out against their white siding. Since the white farmhouse is a popular look and style these days our client had us do the black shingles and really loved how it turned out.
