Batavia Illinois is a western suburb of Chicago and is the oldest city in Kane County! It was originally known as Big Woods for all the trees and growth but was renamed Batavia in 1840 after Batavia, New York. Fun fact is that there are letters from Abraham Lincoln that refer to Big Woods referencing the town’s original name. Mary Todd Lincoln (Abraham Lincoln’s wife) was an involuntary short time resident of Batavia in the Batavia Institute after a Chicago court deemed that Mrs. Lincoln behaved irrationally after her husband’s death.
Today Batavia is a thriving community and has won several awards in top 50 and top 100 best places to live in America from different publications and magazines. If you live in Batavia or have visited you will know why. Most neighborhoods in Batavia are very tight-nit with a strong sense of community. Batavia has a rural feeling at times but yet has all the shopping, restaurants, and entertainment that you could ever want.
If you are visiting Batavia for the first time you will want to visit Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (commonly referred to as Fermilab) which was and is crucial in atomic research. Fermilab gives tours free of charge and has a 3.9 mile particle accelerator! You will also want to visit the Red Oak Nature Center off the Fox River for hiking to appreciate and be surrounded by nature. Fabyan Windmill in Batavia is another must visit attraction with an authentic Dutch windmill!
All of these reasons and more are why we love being Batavia roofing contractors. At the top of the page you will see three roofs that we completed in just one Batavia neighborhood. Batavia gets hailstorms frequently due to the geography and proximity to the Fox River. All three roofs in the photo were paid for by our client’s insurance companies. One of the homes in the photo was actually initially denied by insurance for a roof replacement but after they contacted us we were able to help them get approved for a new roof.
The photo below this paragraph shows Lifetime Xteriors, a Batavia roofing contractor, replacing shingles on the roof of one of our clients. You can see what the shingles looked like before and after in one photo since this photo was taken when only half the roof was completed. The homeowner wanted more contrast with their light blue siding so they opted for the Onyx Black color for their TruDefinition® Duration® Shingles. You can also see how we protected the house where shingles were being removed which is a standard operating procedure for us.
The two pictures below show what the roof looks like before we replaced the shingles and after we replaced the shingles for this Batavia roof replacement. Originally the home had 3-tab shingles. We upgraded the shingles to architectural style and installed Owens Corning TruDefinition® Duration® Shingles in the Estate Gray color. The problem with 3-tab shingles is that they are only rated for 60 miles per hour and do not look aesthetically pleasing compared to architectural. You can see the dimension and beauty when looking at the photos next to each other.
The final picture below also shows another roof we completed as Batavia roofing contractors. The testimonial that our client gave us for this roof was posted on the Better Business Bureau and was: “Lifetime Xteriors was a wonderful company to work with. Excellent customer service. Josh was professional, thorough and detailed every step of the way. Everything was explained to us in detail and communication from Josh was amazing. Lifetime provided a stress free experience for us and we appreciate that so much. If you are looking to get a new roof or roof repairs, LOOK NO FURTHER! Lifetime is the company to call in my opinion! I would give them more than 5 stars if I could!!!”
